Mr. Lens’s work is characterized by exploration of the unsteady and fragile balance between functionality and concept. The projects show powerful visions combined with geometric precision, high quality finish, tactility and finely tuned functionality. The seat element composed of linear tubes is the product of an advanced research following earlier seating elements such as the °ass-3 and the °2-chevaux, which are all pronounced geometric in form but also distinctively comfortable. The form allows leaning, sitting and lying stretched out. There is a visual link with rolls of paper or rolled-up carpets. This feature is reflected in the product’s name, “roll-over”. www.jongform.be
